SEOTesting email alerts
This guide will explain what email alerts SEOTesting sends and how you can manage them.
Here's a global summary of the email alerts our app sends:
Daily Updates
SEO tests
Content Groups
Reports
The Daily Update email is a daily email summarizing your website's stats. It is sent whenever SEOTesting gets new data from Google Search Console.
It includes the total clicks, impressions, average position, and CTR for the day reported.
This email also breaks down your recent traffic by comparing the last 7 days to the previous week. Thus, giving you 3 key pieces of info:
Clicks From Last 7 Days.
Total Clicks change: how that number changed from the week before.
Percentage clicks change: what that change looks like as a percentage.
The data about the Single SEO tests running on this site is also included at the bottom of the Daily Update. (It's on our todo list to include summary info on all types of tests running here)
The 'Account Management' section of this guide provides more details on managing this email alert.
When you create an SEO test of any kind, you can receive an email alert when the test has been processed and another alert when the test is completed.
These SEO test alerts work on a per-test basis, which means that turning them on or off for one test does not affect the other tests in your account.
If you don't wish to receive these alerts, please uncheck the box before creating the test.
Note: The SEO test alerts will only be sent to the person who created the test
When you create a Content Group on SEOTesting, you’ll receive an email alert to confirm the group has been processed. Please note this email alert will only be sent to the user who created the group, not to everyone with access to the site.
When the Content Group updates with fresh data, SEOTesting also alerts the person who created the group.
These alerts keep you informed about performance changes within your Content Group.
If you prefer to disable the alert when the group updates, click on the 'Settings' button on the right side of the screen when looking at your Content Groups.
Uncheck the box for the Content Group for which you want to disable alerts.
SEOTesting will send you email alerts when you request long-running reports.
The following reports will send an email when they have been requested and finish running:
Top Query Per Page
Low-Quality content
Keyword Cannibalization
The reports below will generate an email alert when they update:
Winners & Losers (Pages & Queries)
New Keywords: This is a weekly email for the new keywords the site started to rank for.
New Pages: This is a daily email that alerts you to new pages that have appeared in Google for the first time.
You can disable the update alerts anytime by visiting the 'Account' tab on the left sidebar and then 'Your settings'.
The 'Account Management' section of this guide provides more details on managing these alerts.
The 'Your settings' tab on the Account Management page is where you can see and manage several email alert types for the different sites in your account.
The process is quite simple: just check or uncheck the boxes for each email alert type.
