How to Conduct Year-on-Year Tests

Using the ‘Date Confirmation’ feature in SEOTesting makes it easy to conduct year-on-year testing.

Click the ‘SEO Tests’ link on your dashboard:



Click on the ‘Create a new SEO test’ button at the top of the screen:



Select the type of SEO test you want to run from one of the following options:
Single Test
Group Test
URL Switch Test
Split Test



You can also upload a new test if the data is available in a CSV file.

Fill in the details of your test. For this example, we have chosen a single-page test:



Click on the ‘Create’ button:



This will take you to the date selection screen, where you can finalize the dates for your test:



To configure your test as a year-on-year test, you can select the corresponding dates in each box, as shown:



Click the ‘Save and Start Test’ button below the date selection boxes:



The test will begin processing. You can leave this screen. You will get an email informing you when the test has been processed.

If the test dates are in the past and SEOTesting has no further Google Search Console data to collect, you can view the test results as soon as they have been processed.
