# Unanchored Claims Analyzer

## **What is the Unanchored Claims Analyzer?**
The **Unanchored Claims Analyzer** identifies claims on a page that need proof, examples, citations, or clearer context. When a page makes a strong statement without backing it up, both readers and AI systems find it harder to trust - and harder to quote with confidence.

## **Why is this useful?**
Strong claims without support weaken a page. A statistic with no source, a comparison with no basis, or a performance claim with no evidence all invite doubt. This tool highlights the claims that need anchoring, so you can add the source, example, or context that makes them credible.
**Example:** spot a statistic, comparison, or performance claim that needs a source before it can be confidently used.

## **How does the Unanchored Claims Analyzer work?**
The tool analyses your page content and flags statements that assert something strong - a figure, a comparison, a result - without accompanying evidence or context. Each flagged claim is shown so you can decide what proof or citation to add.

## **How to run a check:**
* From your dashboard, click the 'select your website' dropdown at the top of the page and choose your site. Select **Labs** from the left-hand menu.

* Scroll down to find **Unanchored Claims Analyzer**.
* Enter the **URL** of the page you want to check

* Click **Analyze Content**. The tool scans your content and returns the claims that need stronger anchoring.
* For each flagged claim, add a source, example, data point, or clearer context.

## **Tips for getting the most out of it**

* **Anchor with the nearest strongest evidence.** A first-party number, a named source, or a concrete example usually beats a vague reassurance.
* **Not every claim needs a citation.** Focus on the statements a sceptical reader would challenge - stats, comparisons, and performance claims first.
* **Use it before a page goes out to clients or stakeholders.** Unsupported claims are the fastest way to lose trust in a review.
